MoneyBall DFS Contest Rules

Tackle Childhood Cancer

Tackle Childhood Cancer has partnered up with Moneyball DFS to help in their fundraising efforts. We are keen to partner with like-minded organizations from across the public, private, and not for profit sectors to build long-term strategic partnerships that will help bring forward the day when all childhood cancer is cured. Tackle Childhood Cancer is registered in Florida as a nonprofit corporation. Tackle Childhood Cancer is a public charity that is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and the organization's Federal Identification Number (EIN) is 85-2525394.

A ticket represents a chance to win the opportunity to accept an offer of the stated prize. All sales of tickets are final, and no refunds will be paid.

Tickets, prizes, receipts, and any winner’s rights are not transferable.

Sponsor reserves the right to reject any ticket reservation request that is submitted with payment that does not constitute “good funds.” A ticket issued in exchange for a check returned for “insufficient funds,” or for a credit card charge that was “declined,” or reported as “invalid” or “stolen” is void, and cannot be a winning ticket.

Tickets are reserved for $30 each.

The IRS has ruled that a payment for a ticket is a tax-deductible charitable contribution only to the extent the amount of the payment exceeds the price of the ticket.

All money collected through Moneyball DFS sites will be a direct donation to Tackle Childhood Cancer through their merchant services account. Your credit card or bank statement will show a charge by TACKLECHILDHOODCANCER or TAKCANCER rather than a reference to MONEYBALL.

In the spirit of transparency, Tackle Childhood Cancer, Inc. was started by the founders of Moneyball DFS. Our commitment to you is that 100% of the net profits generated by this fundraiser will go towards cancer research. The funds collected by Tackle Childhood Cancer may be distributed as follows: Approximately 78.8% of the revenue will be used for contestant payouts. Approximately 5% of the revenue will go towards merchant services processing fees. Approximately 10% of the revenue will go towards Moneyball DFS fees. Approximately 6.2% of the revenue will go towards cancer research. Contestants will be asked to donate their winnings to further the missions of Tackle Childhood Cancer.

Contest Entry

The Entry-Fee and Prize Pool for a contest will not change once the contest is created. Therefore, each contest has a maximum amount of total entries accepted. Contests that have not reached capacity will be available for entry up until the contest start time.

Guaranteed contests will run (with prizes unchanged) even if they do not reach capacity before the contest start time. Non-guaranteed contests that do not reach capacity by contest start time may be merged with other similar unfilled contests or may be canceled and refunded.

Scoring and Payouts

Live scoring updates are strictly for the enjoyment of MoneyBall customers. MoneyBalls’ official scoring validation process begins once the game within the contest is final. This process ensures that MoneyBall scoring matches official stat providers when contest results are finalized and paid out.

Once contests are finalized, a contest status will update to "Completed", and that contest will move from the "Live Games" section to the "Completed Games" section on the My Contests page.

On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat-correction after games have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare but can occur days after a game is played. Therefore, any changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests. Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to a bug with the data feed or the finalization process, while extremely rare, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and redone correctly.

Note: The official scoring validation process is solely to ensure that MoneyBall contest results are determined based on official scoring. Delays during this process may occur as a result of data collection or other technical difficulties. MoneyBall will not attempt to make judgments on scoring rulings.

Hive, Pod and Colony Contests

Colony tournament consists of 25 pods and there will be 100 winners and $10,000 in prizes. This is a season long tournament. The contestants with the highest combined points from all the entries entered will win cash prizes. 1st place - $5,000, 2nd place - $2,000, 3rd place - $500, 4th place - $250, 5th place - $100, 6-20th place - $50, 21-50th place - $30, 51-100th place - $10.

Participation in each contest must be made only as specified in the Terms of Use. Failure to comply with these Terms of Use will result in disqualification and, if applicable, prize forfeiture.

Scoring is based on the contestant’s ability to predict the statistical outcome of the game vs the actual statistical outcome of the game and how fast the contestant creates the game card.  To calculate the points earned by the contestant, the predicted end of game statistics is divided by the actual end of game statistics when the prediction is lower than the actual.  The actual end of game statistics is divided by the predicted end of game statistics when the actual is lower than the prediction.  When there is a zero in the predicted end of game statistics or the actual end of game statistics, a one is added to both the prediction and actual before the points are calculated.

Canceled, Postponed, and Rescheduled Games

In the event that a game is canceled, postponed, or a game is rescheduled to a time outside of the original Scoring Period, MoneyBall will cancel and refund all contests.

Suspended or Shortened Games

MoneyBall uses official NFL statistics and only includes statistics from games NFL deems to be official. If the NFL declares a game "suspended" then the statistics generated before the game is suspended will count in the contest containing the said game. Any statistics generated on a later date when the game resumes will not be included.
